Derivation of Empirical Formulae to Predict Pressure and Impulsive Asymptotes for P-I Diagrams of One-way RC Panels

چکیده
There are only limited studies that directly correlate the increase in reinforced concrete (RC) panel structural capacities in resisting the blast loads with different RC panel structural properties in terms of blast loading characteristics, RC panel dimensions, steel reinforcement ratio and concrete material strength. In this paper, numerical analyses of dynamic response and damage of the one-way RC panel to blast loads are carried out using the commercial software LS-DYNA. A series of simulations are performed to predict the blast response and damage of columns with different level and magnitude of blast loads. The numerical results are used to develop pressureimpulse (P-I) diagrams of one-way RC panels. Based on the numerical results, the empirical formulae are derived to calculate the pressure and impulse asymptotes of the P-I diagrams of RC panels. The results presented in this paper can be used to construct P-I diagrams of RC panels with different concrete and reinforcement properties. The P-I diagrams are very useful to assess panel capacities in resisting different blast loads. Keywords—One-way reinforced concrete (RC) panels, Explosive loads, LS-DYNA Software, Pressure-Impulse (P-I) diagram, Numerical.

This study presents the results of an experimental program to investigate the effectiveness of an innovative combined FRP technique using combination of externally bonded (EB) FRP fabrics and near surface mounted (NSM) FRP rods for flexural strengthening of existing reinforced concrete (RC) two-wayslabs with low clear cover thickness. Three full-scale RC slabs (1500×1500×120 mm) were tested und...

In this article a brief review of the literature on the subject is cited. The method of analysis by a finite element program is discussed in which the effect of different influential parameters are examined. The results of these computations are then compared to the corresponding empirical data and two other existing formulae for two dimensional cases. The comparisons show quite reliable and ac...
متن کاملMicro-modeling of Masonry Infilled RC Moment Resisting Frames to Investigate Arrangement of Compressive Diagonal Struts
Accurate modeling of masonry has been a major concern of the researchers in the past decades. Besides reinforced and unreinforced masonry structures, masonry can be found in frame structures as infill panels which are used as partitions and/or external walls. These elements role as a part of structure and introduce a large degree of nonlinearity into the system. In this study, a micro-modeling ...
متن کاملPREDICTION OF LOAD DEFLECTION BEHAVIOUR OF TWO WAY RC SLAB USING NEURAL NETWORK APPROACH
Reinforced concrete (RC) slabs exhibit complexities in their structural behavior under load due to the composite nature of the material and the multitude and variety of factors that affect such behavior. Current methods for determining the load-deflection behavior of reinforced concrete slabs are limited in scope and are mostly dependable on the results of experimental tests. In this study, an ...
متن کاملAnalysis of Masonry Infill Panels Retrofitted with FRP Sheets in R/C Frames
Masonry infill walls are often used as non-structural elements. According to the past structural failure, ignorance of interaction between infill walls and enclosed frame may lead to the different seismic response for non-ductile building frames. The main contribution of this paper is to analytically investigate the behavior of reinforced concrete with masonry infill panels as participating str...
